I would like to let you know how appreciated she is by our family.

"Genevieve, Since you are always copied on Heidi Crockett's emails, I would like to let you know how appreciated she is by our family. When my sister and I interviewed 3 possible geriatric care managers (recommended by the Pinellas County Alzheimer's Association) in early May 2013, Heidi was the only one willing to come during normal on call time to our parents' condo to meet my parents, my sister, and me, after normal working hours. One of the many reasons my sister and I were impressed by Heidi was that she addressed and spoke to my parents, phrasing her questions to them, in addition to my sister and myself. She looked directly at my parents and patiently waited for them to formulate their answers, not rushing or appearing impatient with their dementia. Heidi's patience and compassion for my parents' human dignity were the reason my sister and I agreed to choose her care and your company. Throughout the month of May and June, Heidi carefully suggested that a change in living situation was needed for a safer and more appropriate care was necessary, after monitoring their medical records and speaking with administration and caregivers. My sister and I, and brother, knew that our parents' situation was unsafe and not appropriate, but we truly needed the professional nudge to make the move from their condo. Heidi was willing to accompany me, to make the trip from Tampa airport to Chicago Midway airport to relocate my parents from Florida to an assisted living facility within 20 minutes of my sister's home and significantly closer to me. The airplane trip, from Florida to Chicago, was harrowing for a daughter. The day was filled with incredible and unexpected complications, yet Heidi remained calm for my parents and especially for me. There were moments when Heidi guarded my father's privacy and human dignity. Heidi embodied the calm and the serenity that completely escaped me. I hope to someday write a book or at least an essay about that travel experience, with humor, for others considering or experiencing a similar time. I can only wish for others, that they connect with Aging Care Advocates and that you recommend Heidi as their Geriatric Care Manager."
